Gene’O over at Just Gene’O has a weekly feature called
‘If We Were Having Coffee. . .’
I would love for you to join me for a cuppa and while we’re enjoying some good coffee let’s settle in for a while and have some even better conversation and discussions.
If we were having coffee . . .
I’d ask how you are not solely to dispense with the pleasantries, but because I genuinely want to know.
I’d tell you that I’m sad to see summer go, but can’t wait for fall. All-in-all this D.C. summer has been pretty good. Yes we’ve had a few hot and humid days (typical DC weather), but compared to previous years this was a cake walk. I love fall. I love it when the trees change colors. I love taking drives up to Shenandoah National Park along Skyline drive to see their beauty. Parking my car at one of the overlooks and just looking out onto the treetops at the reds, yellows, and oranges. I love the fall too because it’s great snuggle weather. 🙂
I’d ask you your thoughts on Ferguson, MO and race in America. We don’t talk about the great race divide and we should. Perhaps if we do, we’ll come to learn that we’re more alike than different.
I’d tell you that in T minus 3 days, I’ll be on a plane to Chicago to help my cousin, who’s coming from Alabama, celebrate her birthday and to enjoy the Chicago Jazz Festival. Woot! Woot! We planned this trip in less than a week and I’m pretty proud of us. Girl power!
I’d tell you I’m slightly bummed because I didn’t get any white water rafting in this season. Going to Chicago instead and spending time with family, I guess is better than spending three days on the river and two nights camping by the river. I guess . . . 😥
I’d tell you that I’m glad you had coffee with me and I enjoyed our conversation and discussion and that I hope we do this again soon.
So, if we were having coffee, what would you like to talk about.
