Weekend Coffee Share

You know, just when you think you have a handle on life – it throws you a boomerang. I usually get up around 6:30 am to get ready for work. Well, this past Thursday, I had to wake myself up because I was having a dream about death – not exactly the way you want to start your morning. Anyway, in my dream I couldn’t see who it was, but I knew it was someone close to me. I try to shake it off because stuff like that just gives me the heebie jeebies. So, I shower and as I’m brushing my teeth the phone rings and it’s my mother and she tells me that my uncle passed.

With his passing, I was reminded to live life as if it were your last day. That’s what he did. He was a God-fearing man, who loved his family and would bend over backwards for you. He always had a smile on his face and song on his lips. His laugh was hearty and infectious and you couldn’t help but laugh, even if you didn’t want to. I’ve been thinking about what I’ll miss most about him, but I don’t know. I’ll miss his presence for sure. His formidable presence.

Well, on to something lighter. I’m convinced my laptop was out to get me. I was carrying my laptop screen open to my bed and all of sudden I was doing the keep the laptop from falling on floor dance. I was successful, however I did not go unscathed. And the sad part is I don’t even know how it happened. It’s not like I have jagged edges on my laptop, but it took a big bite out of my hand. Right between the knuckles. There’s not much there to begin with and now I have even less.

Fellas, you might want to skip this part of the coffee share because I’m about to really share.

Ladies, I’m sure many of you know this feeling. I feel like my uterus is about to fall out. Or more appropriately that someone is trying to yank it out. I haven’t experienced this kind f pain since I had fibroid surgery.

I was at work yesterday where I had my first killer cramp and from that moment on it was nearly impossible to stand up straight without being in excruciating pain; and sadly there is no amount of Ibuprofen or Midol that can take that kind of pain away. So, as I lay here on my sofa, I wonder when it’s going to stop and pray that it will soon. Doubled over and lying in fetal position is no way to spend a three day weekend even if it blah outside.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working on a revised blogging schedule and I do believe I’ve come up with something that’ll help me get back on the blogging trail again.

Blogging Schedule

Sunday – Anything Goes
MondayMonday Motivation
Tuesday – Anything Goes
Wednesday – Wordless Wednesday
Thursday – A to Z Thursday

A to Z Thursday is actually two-fold. As you know I wasn’t able to finish the Blogging A to Z Challenge this year, and every week starting on Thursday, June 4th I’ll post my way through the alphabet.

I’m participating in the Blogging from A to Z Road Trip and this is where the second part of A to Z Thursday comes in. I’ll share a post that caught my attention that week.

Friday – Friday Fiction
SaturdayWeekend Coffee Share

I’m off now and my apologizes if I was a Debbie Downer. I hope you all had a great week and I’ll see next time at the Weekend Coffee Share.

Don’t forget if you’d like to like to link up head over to Part Time Monster and join the conversation.

  1. Hi Erica, so fascinated about your dream…yet sorry to hear of the death in your family. Definitely not an upbeat way to start the day, but that’s what meeting friends for coffee is all about–sharing what’s on your heart. Sending wishes for some sunshine! 🙂 Shelah

  2. Sorry for your uncle’s passing, but being he was a Godly man, I’m sure he’s in a better place now than we are.

In your dream, I find it somewhat comforting that someone else has those unexpected/unwanted revelations happen to them.

But, happily, I never had the issues with cramping and pain, and now, thankfully, I’m passed all of it! Yippee! I’m free.

My own WeekendCoffeeShare is at Life & Faith in Caneyhead.

    • Thanks Barbara for stopping by and the condolences. It’s never easy to lose a loved one, especially when it’s as unforeseen as this. And he most certainly is in a better place.

I’ll be glad when I’m beyond that cramping pain.

  3. I really think you should get those killer cramps checked out. If it is not normal for you to have them, then it’s not normal. Please see a doctor!

  4. I’m sorry to hear about your uncle—wishing you comfort and sweet thoughts during this time.

Hope, too, that the cramps subside soon and that you can rest some.

That blogging schedule looks good, too!

  5. I am sorry for your loss, dreams are so strange. Lately I have the feeling that some dreams have a message, those that are messenger dreams impact me in a different way…
As for your pain, go to the doctor (gynaecologist) asap please. I think that you should always have pains like that checked out, you never know if it is something more than just cramps.
Have a great and refreshing weekend, 3 days I guess?

    • Thanks Solveig for the condolences and dreams are wacky. Sometimes I look them up to see what they ‘mean’, which can sometimes be pretty interesting. I agree that I should probably go to the doctor, but I’ll see how it works out tomorrow. They’re actually a bit better today.
