I try not to talk about work on my blog, however, today was one of those days in which I need to purge.
As a Christian you’re often told that the devil has imps working for him. Well, let me tell you he has at least one on my job that is about to make me lose my religion.
I’m not going to go into all the particulars because I find the reason behind the whole thing to be rather petty. Unfortunately, it was taken to a whole new level today. A coworker who was initially just giving me the silent treatment and ostracizing me has now turned my work environment into a hostile one.
I was on the phone with my father telling him I talked to our pastor about an issue and that there was no need for him to tell him to call me. One of my attorneys came up to me to ask me to do something and this coworker jumped in and said, “Yeah give her some motherfukin work.” She then continued to say that she couldn’t her work done because of me (and some other choice words that would make a sailor blush). Now I don’t have a clue how I fit into her not getting her work done, but that’s not my problem because well . . . we don’t talk.
And me being the person that I am, I’m not going let you disrespect me in that manner or in any way for that matter. So, I rebutted telling her that I don’t know what her problem is with me, but she needs to figure it out deal with it. I’m not sure when my attorney made a b-line out of the line fire, but when I turned around she was gone.
During our discourse she said something that I find interesting and really sad. She said that I wanted people to be afraid of me and that she wasn’t afraid of me. What the . . .? Did I just go back to elementary school or something? I asked her why would I want people to be afraid of me?
Yes, I have a big personality. Yes, I say what’s on my mind. No, I don’t mince my words because I figure we’re all adults. And, Yes everyday before I leave to go to work, I put on my big girl pants.
Anyway, after I said what I had to say I went to look for attorney to find out what she wanted me to do. I saw her coming back with our office administrator, so naturally we had to have a talk. She provided me with some reassurance that she would take care of it.
Well, I’m going to take care of it in one of the best ways I know how.
Take it God in prayer
