Weekend Coffee Share

If We Were Having Coffee. .  .

I’d tell you that this is weekend has been pretty brutal. I’m out of meds for my headache, so I’ve been lying on the couch drowning myself with water trying to minimize it. I’ve already exceeded the recommended daily dose of Ibuprofen. I’m sure my liver hates me right about now, but I guarantee that’s nothing for the “love” I have for this headache.

And, yes I will be calling the doctor tomorrow for more meds.

I’d tell you, I’m very nearly done with my Christmas shopping. It’s pretty rare that I’m still shopping this close to Christmas. I still have my mother, grandmother, and the little girl I tutor to shop for and of the three my mother is proving to be the most difficult. But with the help of Deja’s mom, I know what I’m going to get her. I still haven’t done my Toys for Tots shopping yet either and if I’m not mistaken next weekend is the last day to drop off toys.

I’d tell you that Friday was our office holiday party. I really do hate holiday parties. The politics behind going to these things gets under my skin; but in spite of the politics I had a good time. We went go-karting. Although I didn’t drive it was great to see how competitive certain folks are. You learn quite a lot about folks at holiday parties, especially after they’ve had a few. I had perhaps one of the most interesting conversations with the wife of one of the attorneys. I find him quite interesting anyway, but he and wife combined are quite the interesting pair. She’s writing a book about her time in Haiti, which sounds pretty amazing.

I’d tell you that I’m heading home for Christmas. I’m excited. I’ll be home for more than a weekend and for something other than a funeral. I’ll get to see folks I wasn’t able to see the last time I was home.

  1. Hope you get your meds and feel better. I envy you being done most of your Christmas shopping. I’ve got most of mine to do. Some years I am better than others – I have ideas so I guess that is a good thing.

  2. Sorry to hear that you’re out of the meds—hope you’re able to get to the doc and get them tomorrow!

Once upon a time, I would’ve already had my shopping finished. But in the last few years I’ve stopped shopping early and instead shop mostly the week before Christmas…Or online. 🙂
